More than 50 years ago, two young designers at Wilkhahn discovered that sitting still could not be healthy. They therefore wanted to give adults back their natural mobility. After intensive research, they developed the FS line – a chair that revolutionised the office furniture sector. Since then, we have produced 40 different variants of this chair, which has sold millions, won many awards and has often been copied without reaching its height. The principle is simple: the highly flexible seat shell automatically adapts to every change in posture. The technical term is "auto-synchronisation". We call it "sitting without a driving licence".
